Prospective study of Quality-of-Life in newly diagnosed MPN patients.

Sponsors: University of Gothenburg, Department of Haematology, Sahlgrenska University Hospital and Uddevalla Hospital.

Principal investigator: Peter Johansson.

Objectives: To investigate the quality of life at diagnosis of  a chronic Philadelphia- chromosome negative myeloproliferative neoplasms and prospectively during the first three years after diagnosis.  EORTC QLQC30 protocol and Myeloproliferative Neoplasm Symptom Assessment Form (MPN-SAF) are used. Results will be compared to the general population. The association between QoL and different therapies, clinical events, and the levels of platelets, haemoglobin, hematocrit and leukocytes will be studied.

Status: inclusion ongoing in Sweden.
